Bali Zoo & Ubud

BALI

Our last stop on our adventure was Bali. Straight from the airport to Ubud, a very beautiful place in the hills of Bali. Late at night we found our way to Casa Luna (Famous for it's food). What we didn't know was they are renovating the old restaurant so it took us a while to find our Hotel. We had now been traveling for 17 hours. Our hotel looked stunning & our room was to die for, beautiful carved door and 4 poster beds with netting. Full breakfast served on our private balcony every morning, complete with Hibiscus tea.
Ubud is still a fascinating Balinese Village, with a traditional local market. Pierre & I tried our skills at bargaining & bought a wonderful carved coconut, with the Ramayana epic story on it, some shoes & a grinding stone to make peanut sauce for our satay.

The other shopping here was a bit on the pricey side for Bali, so we didn't spent much time on that, lots of eating & zooming around on the motor bikes we hired. The kids couldn't believe it when we turned up with two bikes & put them on the back. We went right out to the rice fields, for a lunch at the rice terraces. Great way to see the country side & all the small villages.
